Cognitive biases

Reading and learning about cognitive distortions and biases, can open our minds to so many insights in our daily life.

Coachees often share with me that understanding their assumptions, judgments, comparisons start with themselves to themselves before even anyone has done it to them.

What an insight and what a truthful viewpoint to work with. Often we experiment with this in the work context to understand, okay, am I being judged and is my attitude about the manager useful or am I judging myself before they have ever given me proof of their judgments.

Again, this does not apply for all situations but it does seem to be a re-occuring situation people face at work and in their private lives.
